Assisi House Transitional Home for Women

Assisi House maintains transitional community living for underprivileged women progressing toward permanent housing. Any number of factors without any guilt of the their own can leave women abandoned and helpless. Assisi House offers such women an opportunity for a rebound. The house is currently equipped to provide a homey and dignified environment for 11 women. Assisi House also assists the women in other ways to help make their transitional experience a positive one. Some of these assistances include: dental care; travel expenses and rides; two meals daily; private quarters, a community living room, community kitchen, and laundry facility; emotional care and support; help in acquiring employment; mindful green space; familiarity with vital life skills and more empowering life-styles; positive volunteer opportunities in the neighborhood and on the church grounds. Assisi House has went way out of their way to make substantial improvements to the interior to their building, that includes central air conditioning. Assisi House has been running smoothly in operation on the OLHC campus since 2017. As collaborative partners, both Assisi House and OLHC were honored together to receive the 2018 Charitable Organization Award. by the City of St. Louis Assessor’s Office Employees.
